Bristol Bay, Alaska Guided Fishing

The Bristol Bay region is know for having the largest run of sockeye salmon of any place else in the world and most of the best locations for rainbow trout. Between June and mid-September our crystal clear streams and rivers abound with a variety of species of fish. Most of our fishing is easily accessible by boat on the Wood River system. A large part of the Wood River system is located within the boundaries of the Wood-Tikchik State Park and consists of five interconnected lakes surrounded by the magnificent Wood River Mountains with hundreds of miles of scenic shoreline. Most of our fishing is concentrated on the lower two lakes focusing on small tributaries and connecting rivers. Two rivers of significance are the Agulowak and the Agulukpak Rivers, known for the best dry fly fishing in the state for rainbow trout and grayling. Over 1.5 million sockeye salmon (red salmon) from 6-10 pounds make their way up the Wood River system swimming right past the lodge each summer providing some of the best sockeye fishing in Alaska.

We also have a tent camp on the Nushagak River which is mainly known for the King salmon runs but has all five species of Pacific salmon as well as rainbow trout and pike. Our main interest is the King salmon which have typical runs exceeding 100,000 fish each season. The King salmon range between 15 and 30 pounds with fish over 50 pounds not uncommon.

Nushagak King Camp
A short 45 minute floatplane ride delivers you to the pristine, unspoiled beauty of our remote camp on the Nushagak River. The Nushagak River is home to the largest run of King Salmon in Alaska, as well as huge runs of sockeye and chum.

You will enjoy a comfortable stay in a two person, weatherport tent complete with wooden floors and beds with linens. Enjoy the area in comfort while wholesome meals are prepared for you by our guides over the campfire or stove.

You can enjoy catch and release fishing all day long without the crowds. Current regulations allow you to keep 4 kings annually.
